Based on my interest areas, there are at least 2 possible directions I’m considering for thesis, and each of them call for different research methods and/or experts I could speak to.

Mother || Personal / Art piece:

One theme that I’ve been thinking about is doing a piece that contemplates my childhood, my difficult personal relationship with my mother and thoughts about parenthood. Initial ideas are that it will be an exhibition of sorts with multiple small artifacts/installations. One of the pieces could include my previous project, Rites of Passage.

Roles and Rules || Interactive experience x collective art:

Another thing that I’ve been thinking about is about creating a role-playing “playground” for both adults and children. It would be modeled after biological cell functions, where each individual has specific roles they are suggested to perform. I want to use this to observe when and whether individuals feel like they can deviate from rules.
